Main project features: 

In the first half of 2021, DEPOCEN conducted a large-scale survey on social needs for academic programs of VNU Vietnam Japan University. The research provides inputs for designing of education programs and the infrastructure construction of the university in Hoa Lac. 

The group of surveyed employers includes: (i) enterprises, (ii) government agencies; (iii) research organizations; (iv) universities; and (v) non-government organizations. The surveyed group to obtain potential learners’ demand includes: (i) high-school students; (ii) high-school student’s parents; (iii) undergraduate students; (iv) master students. Besides, data and information of experts from human resource agencies, high-school managers were also collected. 

Stakeholders sampled for study are mainly in Hanoi and surrounding provinces, central provinces (Da Nang, Quang Nam, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa) and southern provinces (Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau). In total, there are 3.898 people surveyed/interviewed for this study.

Data collected were used for forecasting human resource development trend and for analyzing science, technology and higher education development trend in Viet Nam, Japan and number of other Asian countries.

Activities performed: Desk review of project documents; preparing data collection instruments and training materials; data cleaning; data analysis; and report production.
